The Pardus Live CD is a bootable CD version of the Pardus National Operating System. This Live CD was created by the Ulusal Dagitim Project to introduce computer users in Turkey to the project and gather their feedback and opinions. The Live CD doesn't require installation and won't harm any data on your hard drive.
Some of the notable features of the Pardus Live CD include the Linux (2.6.10) Kernel, the KDE 3.3.2 Desktop Environment, office tools such as OpenOffice.org 1.1.4, Internet tools, multimedia-graphic tools, and games. Additionally, there are auxiliary tools like the experimental COMAR configuration manager and TASMA.
Upon starting up the desktop environment, the Kaptan Masaüstü Desktop Manager will guide you through setting your wallpaper and mouse preferences. On the Pardus Desktop, you'll find icons for Starting Up, Devices, My Documents, Pardus Desktop Sharing, and Trash. Clicking on the Devices icon will display available storage devices and allow you to access files on those devices. Additionally, the Pardus icon on the desktop directs you to a local web page with information about the Ulusal Dagitim Project and the developers.
The toolbar on the right side of the screen provides access to small applications that can adjust volume levels, screen resolution, and keyboard layout. To access the starting up menu, simply click on the Pardus icon on the left side of the toolbar.
